"We try to find both what is fun to tell and what is nice to show in pictures," says Mikael Svensson.
Mikael Svensson has long carried the idea of making a book about different places in Mölndal. And what time is better than when the city of Mölndal turns 100, he wonders.
"I have collected Mölndalsbilder over the years and thought that it will at some point be appropriate to make a book about Mölndal. And now it felt right.
The book should be called A hundred impacts in Mölndal, and will do exactly what it promises in the title. There will be photographs of 100 selected locations in Mölndal municipality, taken by Mikael Svensson, with accompanying text by the author Kristina Svensson.
"These are both well-known places and places that may not be as well visited, and we try to find both what is fun to tell and what is nice to show in pictures," says Mikael Svensson.
Both Mikael Svensson and Kristina Svensson have roots in the municipality, but they are not related, despite the common surname. Mikael Svensson heard about Kristina Svensson through an article in Mölndals-Posten. Kristina Svensson was surprised when he called.
"His book about Mölndalsån is a book that I have admired for a long time and been inspired by, so when Mikael asked me, I felt a little flattered," says Kristina Svensson.
The book is planned for the end of the year and the two hope that the book will be sold at local bookstores and at Mölndal City Museum. It will also be sold by the authors themselves.
"You're a Mölndalspojk, so of course you want to do something on what you have just outside the corner. And it was a good time now when you are not going on a trip, to bring out the hometown," says Mikael Svensson
Will the book sell?
That's the hope. Of course, the people of Mölndal are home-loving and proud of their municipality, so we probably think so. Now it's been a while since a book about Mölndal came out, so it's fun.
